NBS: Feb CPI down 0.2% y/y, up 0.6% m/m

In February 2021, the national Consumer Price Index (CPI) dropped by 0.2% year on year, according to National Bureau of Statistics. Among them, the prices in urban and rural dropped by 0.2% and 0.1% respectively; the prices of food stuff fell by 0.2%, and that of non-food stuff fell by 0.2%; the prices of consumer goods declined by 0.3%, and that of service dipped by 0.1%. On an average from January-February, the CPI decreased by 0.3% compared to a year earlier.

 

In February, China's consumer prices rose by 0.6% month on month. Among them, the prices in urban and rural respectively rose by 0.6% and 0.4%; the prices of foodstuff and non-foodstuff rose by 1.6% and 0.4%; that of consumer goods ramped by 0.7%, while that of service increased by 0.4%.
