China imported 5.5619 mln tonnes of soybeans in February, down 2.283 mln tonnes or 29.10% from 7.8449 mln tonnes in January and down 113,500 tonnes or 2.00% from 5.6754 mln tonnes in February 2020, according to data from China’s Customs.
Jan-Feb soybeans imports total 13.4068 mln tonnes, down 106,100 tonnes or 0.79% from 13.5129 mln tonnes year on year.
In February, China imported 33,500 tonnes of soybeans from Brazil, down 964,700 tonnes or 96.64% from 998,200 tonnes in previous month and down 2.125 mln tonnes or 98.45% from 2.1585 mln tonnes a year earlier. From January to February, China’s soybean imports from Brazil total 1.0317 mln tonnes, down 4.1076 mln tonnes or 79.93% from 5.1393 mln tonnes year over year.
In February, China imported 5.2856 mln tonnes of soybeans from the U.S., down 1.3816 mln tonnes or 20.72% from 6.6672 mln tonnes in the previous month and up 2.7231 mln tonnes or 106.27% from 2.5625 mln tonnes a year earlier. From January to February, China’s soybean imports from the U.S. total 11.9528 mln tonnes, up 5.8516 mln tonnes or 95.91% from 6.1012 mln tonnes year over year.
In February, China imported 45,200 tonnes of soybeans from Argentina, down 10,700 tonnes or 19.14% from 55,900 tonnes in the previous month and down 711,900 tonnes or 94.03% from 757,100 tonnes a year earlier. From January to February, China’s soybean imports from Argentina total 101,100 tonnes, down 1.7015 mln tonnes or 94.39% from 1.8026 mln tonnes year over year.
In February, China imported 52,500 tonnes of soybeans from Russia, up 13,100 tonnes or 33.25% from 39,400 tonnes in the previous month and down 13,000 tonnes or 19.85% from 65,500 tonnes a year earlier. From January to February, China’s soybean imports from Russia total 91,900 tonnes, down 64,000 tonnes or 41.05% from 155,900 tonnes year over year.
