In March 2021, the national Consumer Price Index (CPI) ramped by 0.2% year on year, according to National Bureau of Statistics. Among them, the prices in urban and rural increased by 0.5% and 0.4% respectively; the prices of food stuff fell by 0.7%, while that of non-food stuff rose by 0.7%; the prices of consumer goods grew by 0.6%, and that of service advanced by 0.2%. In the first quarter, the CPI was unchanged from a year earlier.
In March, China's consumer price index declined by 0.5% month on month. Among them, the prices in urban and rural respectively fell by 0.5% and 0.6%; the prices of foodstuff dropped by 3.6%, while that of non-foodstuff rose by 0.2%; that of consumer goods descended by 0.8%, and that of service decreased by 0.1%.
