China imported 390466.17 tonnes of palm oil in March, up 23660.74 tonnes or 6.45% from 366805.43 tonnes in the previous month and up 88263.91 tonnes or 29.21% from 302202.26 tonnes a year earlier, according to China’s Customs.
March RBD palm olein imports accounted for 242339.43 tonnes, down 25561.02 tonnes on month; palm stearin imports were 148126.74 tonnes, up 49221.75 tonnes from 98904.99 tonnes in the previous month.
China’s palm oil imports total 1472466.007 tonnes from Jan to Mar in 2021, up 298105.724 tonnes or 25.38% from 1174360.283 tonnes year over year.
In March, China imported 301836.94 tonnes of palm oil from Indonesia, up 13563.61 tonnes or 4.7% from 288273.33 tonnes in the previous month and up 159477.99 tonnes or 112.0% from 142358.95 tonnes a year earlier; China imported 88626.03 tonnes from Malaysia, up 10253.4 tonnes or 13.08% from 78372.63 tonnes in the previous month and down 71217.29 tonnes or 44.55% from 159843.32 tonnes year over year.
